Nightingale Private Duty and Personal Care Services are available for both patients who may need only occasional assistance with errands, housekeeping, or transportation, as well as those patients requiring continuous in-home care.
Private Duty Care is available for both short-term (following a hospitalization, for example) and long-term needs (due to a chronic or life-long condition or injury). Short-term care is provided for a minimum of four hours. Our private-duty staff works closely with caregivers and physicians to develop an individualized plan of care that best meets the specific needs of the patient.
Respite Care can provide relief for a family member or another caregiver when needed. Respite Care may range from a brief personal visit to 24 hours per day. Our qualified Private Duty staff is available to accompany clients on simple trips around town, or for longer-term travel.
Sometimes, the care you need lies beyond your home. Nightingale's services were created to take your loved one out into the world, and give them a feeling of pride and independence. Our tailored care plans fit personal needs, from medical office visits to shopping trips, hair appointments — even Ohio State athletic events. What we do is up to you. In all situations, the patient's care is based on individual needs.
Nightingale Home Care understands the importance of maintaining consistent, dependable care. We also take the time to provide companionship to boost the spirits of the patient, which are often diminished by the realities of aging, social isolation and the loss of independence. Private Duty Care may range from brief personal care visits to 24-hour assistance, every day.
How we work
Whether the client is living at home, in an apartment, or a seniors' residence, our services are tailored to fit individual needs and skill levels required.
We begin by discussing and evaluating care needs with the patient, family and medical providers. This phase often includes an in-home assessment. Then we provide an individualized care plan and carefully match our trained, licensed staff to meet your in-home care needs.
Once care has begun we will continue to monitor health concerns and work in alliance with the patient, family and medical providers to support independent living. We are dedicated to helping patients remain in their place of residence while receiving the necessary care to help maintain their dignity and worth as an individual.

For your safety and well-being, all Nightingale caregivers are CPR Certified, have successfully completed a criminal background check, and have undergone an extensive selection, screening and training process to ensure reliable and consistent service, providing assurance and peace of mind.
Our services are available seven days a week, 24 hours a day, including holidays. Services are customized to carefully match your home care needs.
Geared to your financial resources
We are experienced in delivering cost-effective services. Our Case Managers will design a realistic care plan that takes your finances into consideration. While some insurance companies pay for all or part of home care services, more commonly, clients pay for Private Duty services directly. If you are unclear if your insurance will pay for Private Duty services, we will contact your insurance company to verify available benefits. It's another way Nightingale Home Care reduces the stress out of arranging home care.
